The History Of Massage Therapy And The Advance Of Massage Chairs

Perhaps you are aware that massage therapy is one of the oldest of healing arts. This ancient and ever evolving art has always been with mankind. In fact, massage is a reaction to bodily aches and pains. How often do you rub something after you hit it on something hard? Most likely every time. Massage therapy is a natural way to enhance the health of your body.

One of our most basic sense this is touch. The physical sensation of touch enables us to feel pain and relief. It helps us stay in touch with our body and its well-being. This physical sense is enhanced with rubbing and touching movements.

It is interesting to note that massage therapy has been practiced consistently since history was recorded. However, our current modern physicians have moved away from these sorts of treatments in favor of pharmaceutical solutions. In the last 50 years, massage therapy has been replaced with the use of medications.

One of the things that have been lost with modern medicine is the holistic approach. Healers used much more hands-on treatment with their patients in the past. Today, it is hard to get more than just a couple minutes with your doctor. Most of the visit is being asked questions and feeling more alienated.

Most of us are quite aware of finding a better balance with nature. We tend to eat more natural foods and pursue more natural ways of taking care of ourselves. Scientific medicine has advanced in an important direction but like everything it is just a part of the whole.

One of the challenges for the healthcare industry with massage therapy is that it is labor intensive. As we know, labor is eventually replaced by machines. In this case, massage chairs are coming of age as a practical and economic way to deliver massage therapy.

The challenges with healthcare are enormous. We know that labor intensive activities are expensive. The healthcare companies are always looking for ways to replace expensive labor with lower-cost machines. Massage chairs present in opportunity to provide patients with massage therapy at a reasonable cost.

The history of massage therapy is quite extensive and extraordinary. It is currently taking a backseat to other forms of solutions. However, as the limits of these solutions and boundaries are realized, then the pendulum will swing back to a more natural balance.

The popularity of massage therapy has doubled in the last five years. This is certainly part of the trend toward more natural ways to maintain health. The healthcare industry is realizing the importance of preventative procedures and other ways to maintain their client's health.

It is important for us to get many of the treatments that have been used by our prior generations. There is an accumulation of knowledge which it has not been put under the light of science. Massage therapy has been used for centuries yet it has not been sufficiently studied by modern medicine.

Technology is starting to play more of a role with massage therapy. You can now find massage chairs with some very high tech features. Many use sophisticated software programs to provide realistic massage sensations.

We are starting to see that massage chairs are making their way into more mainstream health. Many chiropractors are adopting massage chairs to complement their other natural therapies. Chiropractors only applied natural therapies to help heal back and spine problems.

The importance of getting regular massage treatments cannot be overstated. Massage is just like diet and exercise and must be performed on a routine basis to be beneficial. Massage chairs make it easy and convenient to get a regular massage therapy.

Massage therapy continues to evolve with technology. Massage chairs incorporate a great variety of massage movements and specialized techniques. You can now find the most popular massage techniques such as Swedish, reflexology, shiatsu, acupressure and deep tissue programmed into massage chairs. This gives you a vast library of programs to choose from to relieve your body and relax your mind.
